Course 1: Leather craft for beginners and improvers
Description
This course is suitable for beginners or those wishing to improve their leather craft skills.There is a choice of a card wallet or passport cover to make and a range of beautiful coloured dye to add to your vegetable tanned, full grain leather. You will learn how to:
- Cut leather from a pattern
- Prepare for stitching
- Hand sew leather using saddle stitch
- Set rivets
- Use leather dye
- Use a variety of traditional leatherwork tools
This is an intensive one day course, and it is a great introduction to working and sewing with leather. At the end of the day, you will have gained many new skills and you will have made yourself a beautiful new leather case.
The courses run from 9.00am to 5.00pm including a 30 minute break for lunch. We keep numbers to 4 people to ensure one to one attention. By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge to make your own simple leather creations or repair an item that needs a little TLC.
